Extra-curricular Activities - Swimming Program

Prep – Year 4

Prep – Year 4 students have the opportunity to participate in a two week intensive swimming program (every year). The program aims to develop each child’s water confidence, swimming ability and awareness of water safety.

Swimming Program

The cost of this program (NOT included in the Education Contribution ‘Key Experience’ payment option) includes pool entry, swimming instruction and bus fares.

  • Students need to bring:

    • Swimmers
    • Towel
    • Goggles (compulsory)
    • Swimming cap (compulsory)
    • Underwear.

    Please pack these items separately in a named plastic bag and ensure all clothing is clearly labelled. Students are encouraged to wear their swimmers under their school uniform to save time.

Swimming Program

Year 5 & 6

Year 5 and 6 students have the opportunity to participate in The Beach Program at the Beaumaris Life Saving Club. The Beach Program is a fun program to introduce the basics of lifesaving and water safety at the beach. It consists of both dry and wet sessions where the students learn the fundamentals of rescues, survival techniques, rips, tides and body surfing. The cost of this program is NOT included in the Education Contribution ‘Key Experience’ payment option).

Beach Program
  • Students need to bring:

    • Swimming bag
    • Towel
    • Hat
    • Sunscreen
    • Snack & drink
    • Long pants and long sleeve shirt or PJs (for the survival swim)
    • Goggles
    • Jacket
    • Underwear.

    Students are required to wear their bathers under their school uniform on arrival to school.


  • Students who do not participate in the Swimming Program participate in regular classwork.
  • There are NO REFUNDS available if you’re your child is sick or unable to attend.

Year 4 – 6 children also participate in House Swimming Sports.
