Welcome

As a parent of a Beaumaris North Primary School student, you are welcomed into the school community and your involvement on any level is encouraged and appreciated. Your ideas, talents and contributions are what help make Beaumaris North Primary School a wonderful place for children to learn and grow.

The Parents’ Club forms a vital link between parents, teachers and the leadership team. By working together as a community, we can create a collective parent voice at School Council, generate funding, improve facilities, and provide enriching opportunities for our children and their families. Please take this opportunity to get involved and become a member.

The Parents’ Club provides a welcoming environment to new families and a mix of social and fundraising events.

FAQs

Q 1. How do I get involved?

Please download and complete a Registration Form  and leave at the Office or email to bnpspc@hotmail.com (hard copies available in the Information Stand in the foyer). As a registered member you will receive copies of minutes and agendas which is a great way of keeping informed if you can’t come along to meetings.

If you are interested in taking on a Committee Position, simply nominate in person at the AGM (held in November each year) or return a nomination form if you are unable to nominate in person (AGM information is sent out to the school community a few weeks prior to the AGM). All positions are declared vacant and open at the AGM.

Q 2. What does the Parents’ Club do?

The Parents' Club welcomes requests from parents to discuss issues about the welfare and the general education policy of the school. These discussions determine how, as a group, we can work with the School Council to make a difference. The Club also runs a number of social and fundraising events, which in the past has included.

  • Welcome to new Prep families
  • Annual adult social function
  • Boutique Christmas Market
  • Student Disco
  • Mother’s and Father’s day stalls

The Parents' Club also manages:

  • Uniform Shop
  • Head Hunters (lice detection)
  • School Banking
  • Class Representatives
Q 3. Who is in the Parents’ Club?

Parents’ Club is made up of a committee of parents with the following  office bearers and other roles representing many of the services the Club co-ordinates for the school community. To see the 2015 Executive and General Committee please click here.

Q 4. What would I have to do if I became part of the Parents’ Club?

Nothing, or lots, or just a bit. Your level of commitment is entirely up to you - you can be involved without immediately taking on any extra tasks.

Q 5. When and where do you meet?

The Parents’ Club Committee usually meets on the last Monday of the month at 7.30pm in the staffroom. Meetings are advertised via Compass and an agenda is emailed to members.

All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend (you do not have to be a member or committee position holder!).

Q 6. What do you do at the Parents’ Club Meetings?

The meetings follow an agenda of reports from various committee position holders as well as discussions on upcoming events and activities (as per the Club’s Plan). The amended Club Constitution means we are open to receive requests from parents to discuss issues about the welfare and the general education policy of the school. These discussions determine how, as a group, we can work with the School Council to make a difference.

Q 7. I cannot attend a meeting, how can I keep informed?

Minutes are a great way to keep informed if you can't attend meetings. Just make sure you have completed the Registration Form and you will receive the minutes.

Q 8. Will I feel welcome?

YES!  We’d love to have you. Parent involvement is a key feature of the school. Meet new friends, discover skills you never knew you had and help make Beaumaris North Primary School the best it can be!
