A - Z Parent Guide
Playing in the School Grounds
Play Equipment
Please remind your child to use our equipment the correct way – running and jumping from apparatus or ring, is not the correct manner to use our equipment. Many accidents are related to inappropriate behaviour by children on our play equipment and many of these accidents occur beyond our school day/yard duty times whilst parents are in the school ground.

Parents are responsible for their children when they are in the school ground beyond the duty hours of teachers. Siblings of children attending BNPS must always be under the direct supervision of their parent/s when they are in the school ground.
See Yard Duty and Student Health Cover.
Climbing Trees and Playing with Sticks
For the safety of children and to protect our natural environment, the climbing of trees is against our school rules and is NOT permitted at any time – children must play away from the fences and not in garden beds. Teachers enforce this rule during the hours of duty however parents are responsible for their children beyond this time – please supervise your children carefully to prevent injury.
Ball Games
When playing ball games, students are not permitted to play roughly or tackle others. Please remind your child that the playing of ball games near our class Line Up Areas is not appropriate as there are often too many people in the area with young babies and toddlers or even elderly grandparents. If children need to use a ball before school they should use open areas of the school grounds.
Separate Play Areas
Separate play areas are set aside for use by junior and senior students to ensure safety. Students must play away from fences, car parks and the bike shed.
