First Aid Officers

We have two school-based First Aid Officers, who are Level 2 First Aid trained. Their responsibilities include administering exceptional first aid to the students and staff of BNPS and maintaining health records for students. A First Aid Officer is in attendance every day at recess and lunchtime and as required throughout the day.

Our First Aid Officers are based in the Office. Please note that they are not a substitute for a qualified doctor and are therefore unable to offer you or your child medical advice or support outside the school First Aid role. School Council respectfully asks parents not to put our First Aid Officers in a situation where refusal to act beyond the role may offend.

Our First Aid Officers are also responsible for providing teachers with first aid supplies for school excursions and school camps, as well as attending major sporting events such as Cross Country, House Athletics and Swimming Carnivals.

All BNPS teaching and non-teaching staff are also trained in Level 2 First Aid and are rostered on duty when our First Aid Officers are absent.

Our First Aid Officers manage a comprehensive and compulsory training program schedule. All BNPS staff are trained in Level 2 First Aid, incorporating Anaphylaxis, CPR, and Asthma, and guest speakers are invited to Staff Meetings to bring staff up to date on health issues as required.
