Extra-curricular Activities - Mini Fete/Market
The Mini Fete/Market, organised by Year 5 & 6 students, is held every second year on a school day for all BNPS students to enjoy. The Year 5 & 6 students work for several weeks developing a profitable business in the form of a group stall/activity in order to raise money for children’s charities (decided upon by our students). Students write letters and collect donations from many very generous local businesses as well as donating items themselves.
There are a variety of stalls including Food and Drinks, Hair, Nails & Makeup, Trash n Treasure, Second-hand Books, Crafts, Jewellery and various side show alley activities.
The Mini Fete/Market allows every student in the school to participate in a social action project which benefits organisations that support children in need at a local, national and international level. Our motto is ‘Kids helping kids!’ We aim to create a social conscience in the children that they carry beyond their school life.
In the past the Mini Fete/Market has donated to The Starlight Foundation, Royal Children’s Hospital, State Schools’ Relief, CANTEEN, Save The Children Fund, Make A Wish Foundation, Very Special Kids and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
