Literacy and Numeracy occurs several times a week with the children working in differentiated learning groups to cater for individual needs. In Literacy, the Year Two children are involved in many varied activities such as reading a book together, completing comprehension activities, and learning about forms of grammar, practising spelling words and developing their writing skills.
In Numeracy sessions we focus on various topics using hands on activities to reinforce understanding and development of concepts of ‘Number and Algebra’, ‘Measurement and Geometry’ and ‘Statistics and Probability’.
-
At the beginning of each year, co-ordinators and teachers decide the homework expectations for the year level in accordance with the Department of Education & Training (DET) homework guidelines and notify parents.
